Here is the facebook live video interview I did with Jan of Jan Jensen Artists. She is a wonderful supporter of art and artists in the Kansas City area and I really enjoyed talking about my encaustic painting process with her.
I painted this 5 foot heart as part of the KC Parade of Hearts Event in 2022. It was displayed in Fairway/Mission Hills, Kansas for two months at The KU Cancer Center. The hearts were later auctioned off and the proceeds given to a variety of local charities.
Using a damaged guitar donated by Mike Meyer Music Company, I disassembled the electric parts, filled in the holes and refinished it. I then painted canvas with a variety of textures that I used to create this collage.
